It's Monday. And we all know what that means! Not only was work a nightmare but my husbands grandmother is still in town and so was his brother. And though they were both very helpful at work there is still the stress of trying not to bore them to death and we of course ate out for lunch. Also today my husband and my daughter weren't feeling well so that makes things more interesting too!
Breakfast: Carnation instant breakfast. (I swear that I have good intentions for eating something healthier for breakfast one of these days but I just never seem to have any time!)
Snack: A handful of pretzel sticks and a glass of water.
Lunch: Half an oriental chicken salad wrap at Mr. Goodcents Subs and a cherry Dr. Pepper (a 22oz cup half full of ice).
Snack: My bag of chips (Lays BBQ) from lunch and a glass of water.
Dinner: A "California" burrito at a local Mexican restaurant called Macayo's. Though I did have to laugh at their menu describing this as a "healthy" burrito...it contained rice, REFRIED beans!, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce and tomatoes. Last time I almost all of those things fall under the "unhealthy" category. My brother in law said things like that are supposed to be relative, he said it was most likely meant to mean that eating only one is healthier than eating two. Which is undoubtedly true. And of course I ate the chips and salsa and guacamole before dinner and I had a Mt. Dew.
Snack: Hasn't happened yet but to be honest the tub of cookie dough in my fridge is calling for me. So I'll probably eat a spoonful of that, though I promise not to eat more than 2 cookies worth! After this day I deserve it!
So what do you all do for quick (seriously quick!) breakfasts that also have good nutritional value?

ReplyDeleteI like to eat egg sandwiches with the sandwich thin breads. I throw two egg whites and one egg in a bowl, beat and season them. If you're feeling particularly healthy throw in some broccoli. Pop this in the microwave for about 2 minutes and it'll be the perfect size for the sandwich thin bread!
ReplyDeleteOh, and that was me above... having two gmail accounts is killing me! Sorry.
Ok, if it really only takes two minutes I might consider it :)
DeleteI do Cheerios with fruit...easy, no prep...eat and go...(whole grains keep you fuller longer too!)
ReplyDeleteI used to love Cherrios but I haven't had them in forever! I should get some. I loved eating them with bananas in them. Thanks for reminding me! Sometimes I get in such a rut with what I eat!
